Double Double
Lyrics by Pierre Brian Imart and Odd Man Black
Pierre:
I start rapping to the tap and keep on tapping to the rap,
There ain't a trap inside my rap unless you crap because it's flatulence
My rap ain't fast but it's effective like an ambulance
I drop the bomb I keep it hot they call it fabulous
I keep it going, you toss the coin,
The beat is bumping I got something till the break of dawn,
Low on the what? My feet are jumping
Low on the kick, high on the snare, my vocals bumping
I give the rubber to the lover, let the mother to recover,
Find a cover for the governor another summer?
I helped my friends getting out of trouble
And tell my girl to take another double double
take another double double x5
Odd Man Black:

As your bopping your head, and your feeling the saxophone, your feeling the drums, your feeling the piano. Just be thankful for everything you have in this day. That's why they call it the present.

I was initially drawn toward Vulfpeck's earlier instrumental tracks. This album effectively earned my respect for their vocal works. Listening to "Running Away" and "Baby I Don't Know" is like uncovering buried gems from the 1970's. "Hero Town" sounds like an instrumental outtake from Three Dog Night's "Hard Labor" album with deeper bass, earning my respect for Jack Stratton's mixing skills. I would love to see him do a masterclass for mixing in the Vulf Conservatory. t0cktock
