Real Ones
Lyrics by Pierre Brian Imart
(Verse)
I heard the MC's like it, the DJs drop it,
The players with a pool can't take a dive without my record,
I never told myself, nor somebody else,
What it feels when I remember having bugging health.
My parents told me : "We're really sorry, we really love you"
But I'm puking on me
Good vibes bringing on the good vibes
I get apologies for my pathologies thinking
The life we live is filled with this, you give a kiss,
You realize having love is bliss,
It goes 1 for the homies living up in the south
2 for family living love in the house
I getz down to it, my rhymes goin' do it,
3 is for the little that for the music
And I getz down to it, my rhymes goin' do it
Live for the music now
(Chorus)
Wait a minute or 70 years
We don't mind doing whatever this is,
Feeling good now I can see you're loving,
Let it slip down money will be coming
Abandoning yeah you better ignore,
A funky tune happens better indoors
Keep on rocking heaven should know
Real ones never go below
I was initially drawn toward Vulfpeck's earlier instrumental tracks. This album effectively earned my respect for their vocal works. Listening to "Running Away" and "Baby I Don't Know" is like uncovering buried gems from the 1970's. "Hero Town" sounds like an instrumental outtake from Three Dog Night's "Hard Labor" album with deeper bass, earning my respect for Jack Stratton's mixing skills. I would love to see him do a masterclass for mixing in the Vulf Conservatory. t0cktock
